Our Commitment to Sustainability at Reclamation Organics
Our Commitment to Sustainability at Reclamation Organics
At Reclamation Organics, our passion extends beyond our products; it encompasses the entire process of creating them. We believe that businesses have a responsibility to operate ethically and minimize their environmental footprint. As we grow, we continuously seek innovative ways to design our operations for a positive impact, from start to finish. We call this our Clean Green Loop, which begins with our farmers and culminates in delivering products to you.
Our Jars
We use ultraviolet glass jars as part of our commitment to sustainability. Glass prevents the leaching of harmful plastics and is designed to be reused indefinitely. Our Miron Violet glass blocks the full spectrum of visible light, allowing only UV-A and infrared light to penetrate. This unique feature protects the integrity and potency of our products, ensuring they remain effective for longer. [Learn more about our jars here.]
Our Labels
Finding eco-friendly labels was a priority for us, and after three months of searching and gathering feedback from our customers, we chose PURE Labels from Elevate Packaging. Made from sustainably sourced pulp, these labels are 100% compostable. When you return your jars for sanitization and reuse, we’ll first attempt to reuse the labels. If the jar needs to be repurposed or if the label has deteriorated, we will compost it in our garden. We’re thrilled about this sustainable choice!
Our Mailers
We currently use Ecoenclose recycled padded mailers, which are both functional and eco-friendly. Made from 100% recycled materials, these mailers are a perfect blend of cushioning and sustainability. We are also exploring reusable mailers from Limeloop and will transition to them once our stock of recycled mailers is depleted.
Our Packaging and Tape
All our tape—whether paper or plant-based—is compostable. Our clear tape is made from plant-based cellulose, ensuring it’s eco-friendly. For padding, we utilize a variety of biodegradable options:
- Biodegradable packing peanuts: We reuse these from our bulk orders of Miron jars, and they can dissolve in water.
- Crinkle paper: Sourced from eco-friendly suppliers or reused from family donations.
- White paper packaging: Made from recycled newspapers.
- Other paper packaging: All sourced from donations by family members.
Composting and Water Use
We are committed to minimizing waste and reusing water on our mini backyard homestead. We have a pump that channels water directly into our garden, and we only use biodegradable soaps. Unused products, labels, and packaging are composted directly into our backyard.
